Rock Street Community Woodland
Projects > Rock Street Community Woodland
Forage in the forest Sow the City has worked on many neighbourhood greening and growing projects with local housing associations across Greater Manchester including Helping Old Moat Eat, Growing Communities and Grow Cook Eat Stockport. This project works with Onward Homes Social Investment team to transform a greenspace in Higher Broughton, Salford into a usable and low maintenance asset for the local community. Local residents, community groups and schools will be involved in the co-design and redevelopment of the space, with on site consultation sessions as well as woodland management, planting, foraging and Forest School workshops. Similar to our project with Cornbrook Medical Practice, redevelopment will enhance the current woodland, and work with the grain of nature to improve the site for both wildlife and for people. Native shrubs, trees, flowers and fruit will be planted and a natural path and space to play and relax created.
