Health Sector
Sow the City have worked in various health settings offering
social and therapeutic horticulture activities to benefit
service users’ health and wellbeing.
•
Our gardening workshops encourage people
to get outside and enjoy the natural environment.
•
We work alongside GP surgeries and hospitals to offer
green social prescription opportunities. Watch our video
showcasing the Prescribe a Plant scheme here.
•
Our food growing and gardening programmes have
been used by organisations within the heath sector to
treat people experiencing early stage dementia, mental
illness, obesity, and cardio vascular disease.
•
Our approach is a cost effective way to achieve better
health outcomes for your patients or service users.
•
Our skilled practitioners will tailor sessions to suit
the needs of your groups – e.g. children, refugees
or asylum seekers, older people, and patients
with mental ill health.
•
We have thorough health and safety policies and
procedures in place and can provide a comprehensive
evaluation process to measure the impact of our work.
•
We have extensive professional links with other
agencies such as public health departments,
foundation trusts and NHS England.
